NatureGreat Wall Hiking: Jinshanling to Simatai
Two days on the wildest restored stretch of the Wall, with a night in a village at its foot.

Fifteen days through Miao and Dong villages, indigo workshops, wooden bridges and the rice terraces of Guangxi.

This is the China that most international travellers never see. Guizhou's mountain villages are home to Miao, Dong and Buyi communities whose textiles, music and architecture have survived partly because the roads were so difficult.
We travel with local guides, stay in family-run guesthouses and time our visits around markets rather than performances. The route continues to Sanjiang and Guilin for a softer landing.
